Safia Agueni

With an experience spanning almost two decades, Safia is a recognised executive leader within the healthcare industry. Her notable achievements span successes in establishing Digital Governance systems across multinational top 2 pharmaceutical companies, to more recently orchestrating an innovative AI based algorithm for personalised medicine in Digital Pathology as a Senior Program manager at Roche. 

Passionate about equality from the early days of her career, Safia has been a strong advocate in her various roles as Diversity and Inclusion Champion promoting an inclusive and supportive environment for women in STEM. 

By sharing her vision for an inclusive society, Safia not only inspires numerous other women but is also able to mobilise communities to achieve common goals. Most recently, her ability and capacity to drive change led to the founding of the Swiss Chapter of WomenIn Tech, with a group of like-minded women in 2021.

In the 4 years since creation, WomenIn Tech Switzerland has been awarded by the global WomenInTech organisation, and nominated for the Hidden Figures Award 2023 in the Non-Profit Organisation category at WeTechTogether conference 2023. In addition, Safia was nominated as Advocate of the Year 2023 at the PowerHer Awards, in recognition for catalysing change and promoting equal opportunities for women in the innovation ecosystem. 

What’s Next? 

Safia’s legacy across digital health innovation and impactful progress in diversity and inclusion has created the next chapter in her career as she now looks to foster innovation in healthtech with synergies between MENA and Europe regions, leveraging diverse communities to drive global health advancements.
