Nicolas Lepage
Counsellor (Commercial Affairs – Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia) and Regional Senior Trade Commissioner (Baltics) based in Riga I Latvia
Since October 2023, Mr. Nicolas Lepage is Counsellor (Commercial Affairs – Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia) and Regional Senior Trade Commissioner (Baltics) based in Riga, Latvia. Before this assignment, between 2018 and 2023, he was Counselor (Investment, Innovation and Education) and Senior Trade Commissioner at the Canadian Embassy in France. Prior to this position, he was Counsellor (Commercial) and Senior Trade Commissioner at the Canadian Embassy in Warsaw, responsible for the bilateral trade program with Poland and Belarus. Previously, he was Consul and Senior Trade Commissioner at the Consulate General of Canada in Mumbai between 2010 and 2014, where he was responsible for the trade program with Western India. From 2006 to 2010, he was Senior and Regional Trade Commissioner for West Africa. Based in Senegal, he led a regional team located in five offices delivering Canada`s trade program for West Africa. Between 2003 and 2006, he served at the Canadian Embassy in Indonesia as Trade Program Manager for the natural resources sector (mining, forestry, oil and gas) and the services and infrastructure sectors.
Before to these overseas positions, he held various positions at Global Affairs Canada in Ottawa. Prior to joining the Canadian foreign service, he worked as a project manager for an engineering firm for which he managed projects, in Canada and Africa, for environmental impact assessment, capacity building, and technical assistance on water resources, including related to mining.
He graduated with a Bachelor in geological engineering from the École Polytechnique of Montréal and a Masters in hydrogeology from the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique (INRS-Quebec).
