Eglė Radzevičienė, Ph.D., MBA
Chair of the Board at Future Biomedicine Charity and Support Foundation | Lithuania
For more than 20 years Dr. Egle Radzeviciene was leading intellectual property strategy management and compliance functions, initially at mid-size biotech company Fermentas and, later, after the acquisition of Fermentas by Thermo Fisher Scientific, she was leading IP support and strategy at Biosciences Division, where her responsibilities covered counseling and support of Molecular Biology reagents business and, later, Nucleic Acids Therapeutics business as well as management of internal IP analysts team.
Dr. Radzevičienė’s professional background and experience come from the intersection of three disciplines: molecular biotechnology, business management and intellectual property law. She started her professional career as a researcher and worked for more than 14 years in scientific and research institutions: Ph.D. student in Moscow University, Russia, postdoctoral scientist in SUNY, Albany, USA and senior scientist in the Institute of Biotechnology, Lithuania. After moving to work for the industry, Fermentas, dr. Radzevičienė enrolled into MBA studies and has obtained the qualification Master of Business Administration. She has also completed preparatory courses at the European Patent Organization for persons seeking to obtain the qualification of a European Patent Attorney and is qualified to act as Lithuanian Patent Attorney.
In 2019, Dr. Radzevičienė was elected to the Council of Vilnius University and served as the Chair of this Council for the 2019-2024 term.
Throughout her leadership career Eglė has been very actively involved in mentoring startups in Lithuania, helping them create an effective intellectual property and business development strategy models. At the end of 2023, Eglė has retired from Thermo Fisher Scientific Baltics and is currently engaged in consulting activities.
Currently Egle works as an acting Chair of the Board of the Future Biomedicine Charity and Support Foundation, which mission is to support and develop personalized medicine research and practices in Lithuania.
Eglė also holds the position of Chairwoman of the Board/IP Partner of UAB “Biomatter Designs”, AI-based protein design biotech startup, and is a board member of several other companies, and an associate member of the association “Lyderė”.
