Edgaras Diržius

Psychiatrist and lecturer at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LUHS) Psychiatry Department | Lithuania

Edgaras Diržius is a psychiatrist, lecturer at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LUHS) Psychiatry Department, and former Vice Minister of Health. He has also served as an advisor to the Minister of Health, on the fields of mental and public health. A founder and former president of the Junior Psychiatrist Society, he actively promotes professional development and mental health awareness. He has completed specialized training, including clinical transcranial magnetic stimulation course at Maastricht Brain Imaging Centre, Neuropsychopharmacology school at the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology, and leadership courses with Prof. N. Sartorius at the Association for the Improvement of Mental Health Programmes. He also attended the “Leadership Academy” at LUHS Kauno Klinikos. His primary interests as psychiatrist include treatment-resistant conditions and non-invasive brain stimulation. E. Diržius has played an important role in shaping Lithuania’s healthcare policies, improved psychiatric treatment accessibility and quality.
