Dr. Justas Povilonis

Dr. Justas Povilonis, the Country Medical Director at Roche Lithuania, brings over 15 years of diverse experience spanning academia, biotech, diagnostics, and the pharmaceutical industry. He earned his PhD in Biochemistry from Vilnius University, where his research focused on transferable genetic elements of antibiotic resistance in bacterial pathogens, resulting in 11 co-authored peer-reviewed articles. Additionally, he holds a Master of Business Management degree from ISM University of Management and Economics. 

Before his current role at Roche, he spent seven years working with NGS and comprehensive genomic profiling solutions, delivering clinical value to patients and supporting the implementation of a Personalized Healthcare strategy in Lithuania. Prior to joining Roche, Justas held R&D and product management positions in various molecular biology areas at Thermo Fisher Scientific. 

His primary professional interests lie in healthcare innovations aimed at providing clinical benefits to patients with the highest unmet medical needs. He has particular interests in gene and cell therapies, genomic medicine, and molecularly guided therapies.
